Here in Ola, there are three seasons: Dust, Snow, and Mud. Ocassionally two of the seasons occur simultaneously, as happened this week. For the past two weeks, it has either rained or snowed every day. The ground is completely saturated, and there is an enormous amount of surface water runoff. There have been several mudslides blocking the Sweet-Ola highway, and High Valley Road has had a couple of washouts. Yesterday was the first time we had seen the sun in a long, long time, so I thought it would be a great idea to drive up to the property and do a little target shooting. The ground was still completely frozen - or so I thought. It took a few hours of digging, jacking, propping, and winching to get back on the rocky driveway. My Ola education continues...

Fun post! Great snapshot below this post, too!
This is meant as humor...
Those of us who grew up in the area typically learned this lesson in junior high (my hand goes up) or in high school (guess I really didn't learn it in junior high!).
Best of luck over the winter!! Sounds like a totally awesome place to spend the winter, I am envious.
