Susan and I finally got the big brush pile down by the creek burned. Now we will be able to level and seed that area for the spring. The original size of the pile extended out past where Susan is standing, and was over 10 feet high.
I am constantly amazed at Susan's willingness to share in the hard work.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, or so the saying goes. My friend Kevin and his son, Ian from Umatilla, OR, came out for a short visit. The weather turned unseasonably warm, so I took them up on the hill for a little long range target shooting. We all had a great time, especially Ian, who had never fired anything as powerful as the .50 caliber Barrett 82A1/M107 rifle . One of the benefits of living out here is the ability to shoot whatever I want, whenever I want, and not disturb anyone in the process.
Note to those of you in the blue states: No airliners or armored limousines were harmed during the filming of this picture.
Clicking on this picture will take you to an album of photos Kevin took while in Ola.![]()
Susan and I just returned from a 2800+ mile trip to Kansas City, MO to visit one of her daughter's family. I had forgotten how noisy three grandkids under five can be.
The weather is forecasted to be wet and gloomy for the next week or so, so I'll spend most of my time building a bathroom inside the shop.
