Pipes, Wires & Rocks...

Longer days mean earlier starts to avoid the midday heat. At the house site, I have finished roughing in the sewer lines and drains for the house. These will have to be inspected and leak tested. Once that is done, we will fill in and compact the trenches, level the subfloor and begin to lay out the moisture barrier, insulation and tubing for the radiant heating in the floor.

Meanwhile, the plumbing in the shop has finally been finished, inspected, tested and approved. Isn't that green tag beautiful? I will now build the sink cabinet and counter top, and install the fixtures. The next step will be to have the electrical inspection so I can close in the walls and ceiling.

In anticipation of grazing cattle this spring, Susan and I rebuilt the fencing along Timber Flat Road, including installing a 20ft. double gate across the driveway. That will be a lot easier to use than the old barbed wire gate.

I am finally getting the area around the shop graded and covered with base rock and gravel. This included installing a 40ft. culvert under the driveway to get rid of snowmelt and runoff from the hillside above the shop.
Lots of little projects, all paving the way to getting started on building the house.
