A great season

One of my favorite times of the year is deer season. Over the years, I have harvested many nice bucks. This year, however, takes the cake. I harvested a buck that I named "Buckzilla" last year, when I saw him three days after the season closed. I managed to take a couple of quick pictures, and never expected to see him again.
This year, I had surgery on both hands to correct a condition called "trigger finger". My hands were still healing, so I didn't hunt for the first week of the season. Finally, I couldn't wait any longer, so I went out just to see what I could see. That's when I ran into Buckzilla again. I had one shot, and I was fortunate in that I made it a good one. He dropped within 20 feet of where he was hit. This is by far the biggest buck I've ever shot. The carcass weighed in at 168 lbs. at the butcher's. We will enjoy many fine meals of pure, organic, free-range venison.
